11-hour day.

July 14, 2005 | 8:31 pm

I don’t think I’ve ever worked for 11 (technically 10:10 with lunch) hours before … wow it was crazy. I finished about 4 jobs on my own, and then helped with random other jobs for Rodney, Basha, and Selina. I wasn’t really tired, though … I have no idea why since I got like 6 hours of sleep, but I was energetic for most of the day and felt better than usual. Maybe it was the coffee I had in the morning or the salad and coffee I had for lunch. All I know is that by the time 7 finally came, I was so ready to leave. And since the working “high” I’d been on all day takes some time to wear off, I decided to call Derek on my drive home and got to talk to him on his break from class, which was cool. He said he’s been really busy too, but maybe I’ll get to say hi again tomorrow. We’ll see … I need more friends lol.

Speaking of friends, I went out to Friday’s last night with Shaune so she could buy me a drink (I decided on a cosmopolitan) for my birthday. Despite the really really loud and annoying party of literally 30 or 40 people (another swim team), we managed to talk semi-successfully until they left, and then ordered dessert and hung around ’til 11. It was good to see her again — especially when there are guy issues to talk about

Eep.

August 18, 2004 | 8:34 am

I enabled hotlink protection on cPanel ’cause I thought it’d keep people from direct-linking my fanlisting (and other) images … and now my Blogger profile picture won’t work (among others, I’m sure). Stupid feature … why can’t I select certain pictures to be left alone? Blah. I can’t even log in and change it from this computer.

Ray is awesome. Yeah he may be kinda weird and like to randomly bug me, but I talked to him yesterday for like 15 minutes about school and HTML, and now I have a copy of Photoshop 7.0 (to replace my 6.0) and Macromedia MX! I was like score — I didn’t think he’d actually remember to burn me the CD. Yay.

Oops, I didn’t update about the weekend? Well, Friday’s taken care of, but man, Saturday night was full of surprises. After Brian (my Brooglian  ) did his magic and fixed Ross and I’s external hard drive, we headed to Shaune’s, getting there around 11. And yes, the hype was lived up to. I bet at least 40 people were there, thus making it one of the biggest parties I’d been to (while not passed out). I got to catch up with Alan, Megan, Jon, and Shayne — who’d come from 2 hours away and decided to have a rant-fest about me with Brian while I was standing there. Granted, it was interesting, and I’m glad they get along, but geez, there’s just some stuff you don’t say.

Then came cop scare #1, so Shaune hurried us all inside. What happened 2 seconds later? Fight. 2 guys started punching each other, apparently over some girl, and it took like 10 people to break it up and hold them back. Consequently, they got kicked out … though the rest of the night includes more drama involving them that I’m not 100% sure about. It was the first real fight I’ve witnessed, and I’ll leave it at that.

But wait, there’s more. Guess who else was there? Brendan Gallagher, of all people — the son of one of my dad’s friends. I hadn’t seen him in like 10 years (during which he grew about 10 feet lol), but somehow he recognized me, so we talked and exchanged phone numbers. Definitely gotta hang out with him soon, one reason being he can hook me up with the good “herbal goodness.” Wow that’s redundant … oh well. Another guy named Bryan (forget his last name) came up to me and said I looked familiar, except I didn’t recognize him at all. Supposedly we were at Swanson together, but maybe he was in a different grade *shrugs*

Brian and I left at cop scare #2, when Shaune shooed everyone out who wasn’t spending the night.

Bah I’m getting so sick of this layout … but wanna get my XHTML and CSS working right before doing anything to it. Speaking of which, weirdncrazy.com is done except for the PHP pages, and I got approved for the Seraphim Shock fanlisting. Cool.

Playlist feature.

January 13, 2004 | 8:05 pm

New feature: the last songs I listened to are now automatically listed underneath the “Right Now” section in “Playlist” — yay! Props to BlogAmp for making it happen.

And now I’m out — Shaune really called me (wow) while I was watching one of Jessica’s former teachers win on Jeopardy, so I’ll be hanging out with her and Jen and whoever else for a couple hours. Adios

Back after break.

January 12, 2004 | 10:10 pm

Bah riding meeting tomorrow. Wonder if I should go, since I’m technically abandoning lessons this semester. And grr, the showers here just had to de-awesomize themselves by having sucky water pressure, which is what I’m most picky about.

LOL, it’s only 10:05 and Jessica’s going to bed. Funny. But she claims it’s only a temporary, getting-back-into-the-scheme-of-things thing. Yeah. Only time will tell.

Oh cool, Shaune’s coming tomorrow, and I might actually see her this time.

Why does my computer freeze every single time I restart? It didn’t before I installed my Belkin mouse … wtf.

Spooky.

October 31, 2003 | 8:24 am

Wow awesome night. What started out as a few games of pool (I “won” 1 of 4  ) at TDU turned into over 8 hours of a modified sleepover.

After pool Doron and I got vending coffee at Wilson, walked back to White Hall, saw that Eddie was back so talked with him for a little bit, then played basketball for about an hour. What I’ve discovered is that he’s a lot like Ross (except shorter) … loves chess, good enough at basketball to coach 9-year-olds, and pretty skinny. We have a lot in common (our views on society and liking outdoors-y stuff), and he made me 2 CDs of awesome bands (Underworld and VNV) that I’ve never heard of. Score.

For Halloween he’s Eddie (and Eddie’s him), so watching them get dressed up was funny — especially Doron’s new Taxi Driver mohawk. After doing that and taking pictures and showing everyone online, Jessie (the girl who drove me to all the parties the night I met Eddie, and also his girlfriend) calls and soon comes over, drunk — according to her she had either 5 or 12 beers … can’t remember lol. So we talk to her ’til she wants to do her thing with Eddie, at which point I’m like, “heyyy Doron, what’s up?” LOL. At the end, we don’t get to “bed” ’til about 5:30 am, and for some reason I wasn’t tired, even though I’d woken up at 7 am the previous morning. I think I got literally 15 minutes of sleep after “waking up” at 7:30 to a frickin’ loud alarm. But it was worth it! Doron and I talked about random stuff forever, which was definitely a nice change from the meaningless babble of everyone else. He also kept saying it was the most comfortable night he’s had at JMU so far, and that he’s glad he met me … aw yay. Then he walked me back to Hillside, gave me a hug, and went on to class

Now I’m here, and ready for another awesome night! Happy Halloween!

Insane rain, moving sucks, sick?

July 23, 2003 | 12:43 pm

I really don’t get Shaune. She and Will had a physical fight in NYC … and she’s still with him. I know if I were her, I wouldn’t tolerate it … that’s just crossing the line. You don’t do that. But oh well, not like I can do anything about it. I’m just surprised, and not understanding why she puts up with it.

The rain tonight was insane, the worst I’ve ever driven in with my car, and of course it had to start right as our movie (Legally Blonde 2 = kinda funny) let out. I mean, visibility was basically 0% (even with my wipers on high), I was going like 30 mph on 66 … and I’d look out my side window and see water spray up from the road. The places where crosswalks were had standing water … the road just looked flooded from the sudden excess and force of the rain. It was actually kinda scary, I made it home more from memory and following tail lights than from driving. I considered pulling over, but was almost home, and figured I’d be okay. Never again, though … I know it could’ve been worse. And the moment I opened the screen door, my dad opened the other door and said he’d been hoping I hadn’t been driving in the storm. Poor Erica had to get gas as well.

And wtf is up with my throat? I don’t need a cold (or whatever) now, especially with the internship so close. Blah. I wonder if going through an entire pack of Luden’s Cherry Throat Drops is bad for you?

And I really need to pack — we start moving this Thursday … technically tomorrow. Crap. Haven’t even started. Well, my schedule for tomorrow is set … *cries* I really don’t wanna have to pack and unpack all my stuff again, both for the new house and JMU. It gets so repetitive and tedious *sigh* Moving sucks after the first time.

In good news, I’m almost done updating WNC! I’ve gone over every page and made sure it’s how I like it, and have made myself do the time-consuming things that I’ve been putting off. All I have left to do is add tables and resize/border images to the last 3 art pages … and then I think I’m done. Yay!

And it’s pouring again … great. I’m gonna need a boat to go anywhere tomorrow.

Thesis, friend drama.

April 30, 2003 | 11:27 pm

Yay, April’s almost over! And Chris emailed me back, and I’m visiting Anilogic on Wednesday! And I wrote 4 pages and a sentence of my thesis! Which took like 5 hours but I’m a slow writer on long papers, so sue me. Once I reach 7 pages I just gotta go back and put in the citations and fix my bibliography, which should be easy. So even though I’m only like halfway done, if I work on it a lot tomorrow and a little over the weekend, I should be fine. I also really hope they go easy on the homework this weekend … I’m gonna flip out if they don’t, lol. But oh well, I’m going to bed real soon. My dad says I need it, and I definitely feel it tonight, so yeah. Bye ’til next time.

Oh yeah, and everyone needs to download the new Marilyn Manson song “Mob Scene,” it’s awesome! Same for the new Third Eye Blind and Sum 41 songs, lol.

Also, Shaune and Will aren’t engaged anymore. It kinda sucks ’cause she was so happy before he started neglecting her and whatever else he’s done, so hopefully things will work out. But lately she’s been depressed, and apparently he threw her engagement ring out the car window during one of their fights, which really sucks … don’t know what I’d do if I was her. But she’s holding up … gonna talk to her next time she’s online.

And *hugs* to Brian
