Wow, I have my first host — Veronica! Cool. Didn’t think it was that easy … and now that I think about it, I have family! LOL. Or at least the privilege to put up a “hosted” link or something *shrugs* But before anyone goes and gets ideas, keep in mind I won’t host random people. I gotta know (and trust) you in some way first.

Anyway, onto bigger and better things: my birthday, New York, anniversary, 4th of July … busy busy busy. But good good good too! The past month I’ve been so spoiled  I got like 1000 things for graduation, and now it’s that all over again (sorta) for turning 19 (and for 1 year with Brian). Not that I’m complaining, but other people need stuff too … or at least it seems that way? But ah well … I’m happy (except my stomach … blah) and I’m gonna enjoy it while it lasts. I have a feeling this week will be my last free one ’til GUH craziness, so I’m gonna try to squeeze in whatever I can. I know I’ll spend all of tomorrow at the mall and with Brian. And then this weekend I think we’re going clubbing (for the premiere of my fire boots lol), but not sure.

What else was I talking about? Oh yeah, New York. I walked a lot! But now I have a rekindled interest in walking … one reason I’m going to the mall tomorrow, lol. Umm, took the train up Friday afternoon, got there, had dinner, and went to see the fireworks. The show was supposed to be the best ever or something, and from what I know, it was definitely good (except for walking 20 blocks, waiting for 2 hours in the heat for it to start … and then it started late)! There were 4 barges (instead of just 1), and they did a synchronized show to music, complete with both new and improved formations and my favorites: hearts and smiley faces! They also had these funny fireworks that exploded, started to fall, but then were like oh no you don’t, and went back up again! It was cool.

Saturday … was shopping day (at Gap, Macy’s, and Virgin Megastore)! Plus more walking. And then it was De La Guarda. OMG. That show was frickin’ insane, weird, freaky, unexpected, etc. A few days later my grandpa’s explanation of “evolution” made some sense … though anything that combines haunted house music, African vibes, cold water, stage lights, a “ceiling” of tissue paper, confetti, balloons, naked guys swinging from ropes, and all action taking place overhead with a bunch of college kids in a dark, crowded, standing-room only area for 70 minutes … is definitely my idea of wtf? However, it was strangely appealing, and if I could see it a second time, I would — just without my family heh.

Sunday was slightly mellower. Went to Virgin Megastore again, said goodbye to my grandpa, went back home, did anime night with a cookout (and watched Natalie Portman reveal her bad self lol) … and then I collapsed into bed.

And today (technically yesterday) was Brian and I’s one-year anniversary! First of all, it’s awesome that it’s here. I’ve never had such a “real-feeling” first year and I can’t believe it’s gone so well, usually there’s something that goes wrong. But no … it’s like it’s too good to be true  So thanks to everyone and everything that made that happen, especially Brian. We went to dinner in Old Town at this little restaurant called Bilbo Baggins (yes, like the LOTR Bilbo). It was good, and I still have about half my meal — beef stroganoff with veggies and fettuccine — to enjoy for lunch tomorrow. Afterwards we walked around a bit, went down by the river, peeked in some stores, I got ice cream at Ben & Jerry’s, and then, with it being around 11 on a weeknight, headed back to the car and back home.

And now here I sit, aimlessly writing a huge post, almost asleep in the process … and satisfied that I can finally wrap it up and go to bed! So adios, everyone, sleep tight, and leave comments!

Blogger jobs, roses, New York soon.

July 4, 2003 | 1:09 am

Ooh Blogger’s offering jobs … I just can’t apply for any of them. They need to have a frickin’ office here.

My roses (courtesy Brian) have bloomed really big, more than that of previous flowers. So yay, ’cause they’re pretty. Speaking of Brian, I got a birthday card from his parents today, which was sweet. And also one from my grandma yesterday.

Well, tomorrow’s New York (for the 4th, my birthday, and seeing my grandpa). Gotta get up in … *counts* … about 7 hours, so I should be going to bed soon. But before that, here are the past days’ highlights: got a lot of stuff straightened out at GUH (so I better be starting in ~2 weeks), am in the process of learning racquetball, Brian got a new car (it’s cool), my birthday’s technically tomorrow (happy 19th to me), and me and Brian’s one-year anniversary is on Monday. Aww, estoy happy. Gonna be a nice next few days (though it sucks Brian can’t come to New York).

Anyway, guess it’s bedtime, so talk to everyone later. Happy 4th!

Online woes, evil ants.

June 30, 2003 | 3:09 am

I’m so tempted to shut down WNC and make a collective instead. No one goes there anymore, I get like 1 submission a week, instead of the 20-a-day that I used to in past years. I also have like no motivation to update … I dunno, it seems like no one cares anymore. Of course I still like Hanson, just not in the obsessive way that I did when I started the site. Blah …

And wtf is wrong with the Franchises category at TFL? I want my frickin’ fanlisting added. It’s been more than two weeks since the last update, and Hanna’s nowhere to be seen. I just sent her an email, so hopefully I’ll get a reply soon. But not likely.

Umm, what else. Went on an ant killing spree tonight. After watching the late-night edition of ET and having dessert, I go to clean up the kitchen, pick up the cats’ food bowl, and freak out. 500 ants (literally) are crawling in it — it was so gross. I throw it in the sink, turn on the hot water (scorching them all) and spray Raid on the ones still alive. I continue to spray it on about 1/4 of the kitchen floor, officially declaring war against house-bound ants. Ew. Ants are evil.

Got to work with my dad today … but it wasn’t particularly exciting. All I did was enter work permit data with PeopleSoft for 4 hours. But it’s with a flat-screen monitor and money (for once), so I’m happy. I seem to have difficulty finding paid jobs (or jobs at all). Sounds strange, but yes … I guess that goes in the “what I’m not good at” category. Alas.

Saw Brian tonight, which went fine. We had dinner at Bertucci’s in Clarendon, then drove back to Centreville to watch G.I. Jane. Wasn’t really anything special, but stressed the whole girl-power Spice-Girls thing. Which is motivating for like a minute, but then wears off, and you’re no different from before. Yeah. And I got 3 “new” (technically old) shirts courtesy of Brian’s cleaning! The first is dark green with Scotland written on the front, the second is black with a picture of the Black Riders, and the third is white with “I will never again schedule an 8 am class” written over and over on the back. Funny stuff.

Hmm, what to do tomorrow. Gotta go to the gym and Safeway … and maybe work on GUH stuff, site stuff, CDs, and killing more ants. And trying to figure out what I want for my birthday.

Anyway, it’s bedtime soon, so talk to you people later. Bye.

Some more updates.

June 20, 2003 | 2:18 am

For the past few days I’ve basically been working on my sites (lately making lots of graphics) and sorting things out with GUH (doctor appt. Monday and info session July 2nd).

Saw Brian Tuesday night for like an hour (I think we went to Sheetz?), and tonight we went out to dinner at Sweetwater and then watched Monsters Inc. It was pretty good, and I learned that Pixar is really cool.

Signed up to be a rep at the July 19th Da Vinci’s Notebook concert, so that’ll be interesting. I just hope I don’t screw anything up. Erica also comes back from St. Louis then, so gotta hang out with her a couple times.

I got my grades today, and I’m happy (my dad too) — all As and Bs! Since I pulled my grade up in Spanish, my dad was joking about how going to Cancun would be less academic than originally planned, lol. If we even go, that is, which I really hope happens (and also that Brian can come, ’cause that would just be awesome for both of us).

Well I’m getting tired early for once, lol, so I’m going to bed. Tomorrow = just the gym and The Hulk, which will be cool. So bye!

Annoying Cox, Father’s Day.

June 16, 2003 | 3:33 am

It’s 3:33, make a wish!

I kinda want the new Blogger hoodie (or shirt), lol. Anyway, yeah, haven’t posted in a couple days. I’m actually on AOL right now ’cause the net here is again being annoying and slow and stupid. My dad was pissed at Cox since it’s always their servers, yet everyone else I know who uses Cox has no problems. Grr. But at least I still have AOL.

Happy Father’s Day! Mine was pretty good — slept in, caught the end of the Sully car show, hung out with Brian for awhile (aw he’s so great), had dinner with him and his family at Carrabba’s, did presents with his dad, then drove home and did presents with my dad, which he said he liked  Wonder how long it’ll take for him to actually set up the answering machine, lol.

I think my sunburn’s getting better (finally). I peeled off a lot of dead skin, which helps according to some medical show I saw a long time ago. And last night I discovered medicated Vaseline in the bathroom cabinet, and since putting it on my shoulders haven’t been as dry, so yay. Hopefully good things will happen if I use it every night.

I got an email from Dr. Kelly, and she said that Dr. Chahine might need some “outside pressure” to help this internship get off the ground, and that it wouldn’t hurt to call the surgery office. So gonna do that tomorrow and hopefully get things worked out.

List for tomorrow: call Georgetown, go to the gym and CVS, figure out how to deposit all my graduation money (since my bank just merged with Wachovia), and fix random site graphics. Tentative birthday list: digital camera, Animatrix (including soundtrack) DVD, Treasure Planet DVD, Gap gift card, and full-length mirror.

Anyway, I’m getting tired, so gonna go to bed now. Bye!

10 months = 2 years?

May 6, 2003 | 11:34 pm

Crap … I just ate so much. During the day everything was good, but then, ’cause I’m bored tonight, I eat an apple, 3 fruit snacks, cereal, yogurt, and carrots with dip. Yeah, that doesn’t sound bad, but it’s like 1000 calories (added onto 1500) … blah. And now I feel sick … I always do that. But oh well, not like I can change the past … just won’t eat a lot tomorrow … or something. I need something to keep me occupied at night … and going online won’t work ’cause all the cords are taken by the underclassmen, and they’re annoying anyway.

So tonight, after doing homework, I ate, listened to techno, printed pictures for the interview tomorrow, and read old AIM logs with Brian. Sad, huh? I dunno … and WTF, they changed the layout of Hotmail again. It’s bothering me. Aw, and my grandma sent me the cutest email thanking me for her yoga birthday card. Hehe.

Well, g2g now and update my Solitaire fanlisting and finish chatting with people … so bye. Oh yeah, and it was cute … I talked to Mrs. Thorndike for a couple minutes today, and the semi-formal picture on the Activities board came up, and she asked if Brian was the same guy I’d been seeing for like 2 years. I said no, about 10 months instead, but she was like whatever, that’s 2 years for your age. So yay?

Crazy busy weekend.

May 6, 2003 | 7:09 pm

Ooh there’s gonna be a lunar eclipse on the night of Thursday, May 15, between 9 pm and midnight … hopefully there won’t be clouds, ’cause I wanna see.

Anyway, man I haven’t blogged in forever … I’ve been mucho busy … and mucho tired. From Thursday night to Sunday night I got an average of 5 hours of sleep. I was so out of it by Monday, lol. Let’s see, Friday, finished my thesis and saw X-Men with Brian and his movie friends. The movie itself was cool, though I wasn’t into the conversation afterwards about the comic book. But oh well, it didn’t last too long.

Saturday, did my homework for the weekend, went with Brian to see where Anilogic was in Dupont Circle (interview’s tomorrow!), had lunch in the cyber cafe next door (where I proceeded to get an overdose of caffeine), and then we walked around a little before getting back on the metro ’cause of anime night. That got canceled, though, so after getting stuff for Sunday done, we had dinner at Tuesday’s, and then went to sleep.

Sunday, got up at 8:15 to leave for the horse show at 9, got there around 10, and waited around ’til 2ish to actually ride ’cause Ms. Laurie misjudged the time. I got 2nd place in the first jumping class, momentarily forgot where I was going in the second class, and didn’t let Sherman go forward enough in the third. I was kinda pissed at myself for that, but oh well. At least it was better than last year. Everything’s better than last year lol. Brian came to the show, which was sweet, even though there was a lot of waiting around. Afterwards we had “brunch” at Mosby’s, and then we went home so I could get ready for the concert.

OMG, Bliss is pissing me off :x She has the always-annoyed, loud, I’m-better-than-you tone kinda like my brother, but worse. Grr, I’m so glad I’m leaving.

Anyway, back to the concert. It was awesome, even though Erica and her sister and her sister’s friend wanted to sit up in the seats, and not down on the floor where I wanted to be. It was harder to jump in the seat section too … and so easy to lose your balance and fall on the people in front of you. But it was still fun. I got a shirt and stickers. At one point New Found Glory did their own version of “Lose Yourself.” I was like score! Parking was easy getting there, but leaving, I sat in the lot for like an hour waiting for people to frickin’ move. It took forever. It was also hard to find my car, and then I almost got lost on the way home. I swear, I’m never gonna figure out Mason.

Got home around midnight, called Brian to say hi, and then went to sleep … ’cause had to get up at 5:30 the next morning. Which sucked, but I did. Took a shower, packed, and left … stopped at the Middleburg Safeway for a few things, and got to school around 7:30. Unloaded the car, parked, then headed to the exam.

It went pretty well (I hope), though my hand hurt so much after the essays. We also got food break, which was nice. Then I had Spanish, probability/statistics, and English, but Spanish was the only class I had to actually do something in. Probability/statistics, we just sat there and went over the easy homework, and English, we got chocolate-covered strawberries and sparkling cider. It was good, hehe. We don’t have class the rest of this week, either, which is awesome — I’m leaving at 11 tomorrow!

Umm, then was the judicial, but nothing too big. A freshman cheated on a biology test … got suspended for a week. Then I tried to get some much-needed sleep, but no. Of course not. The fuckin’ sophomores were screaming up and down the hall … and random people kept coming into my room. After the first I didn’t bother getting up. When they all went to dinner, though, I got about an hour, which helped a little. But not much … felt better after riding today. Which was cool ’cause our lesson lasted all of 20 minutes ’cause there was no served lunch. Yoga was also light … we did partner yoga, which was weird … and tried a little pilates, but I definitely like yoga better. You have to breathe all fast in pilates, and that doesn’t do anything for me.

Then I came back, took a shower, went to dinner, and now I’m here. And g2g ’cause it’s study hall soon … but I’ll be chilling in my room all night. Don’t have a ton of work for once, so yay. Oh yeah, and my anatomy test this afternoon wasn’t that bad! It took me forever to write everything out, and there were a couple things I wasn’t sure about, but nothing was surprising. So that was a nice change. Wonder if she’ll grade them tonight.

Anyway, adios … and wish me luck with Anilogic tomorrow.
