Eep.

August 18, 2004 | 8:34 am

I enabled hotlink protection on cPanel ’cause I thought it’d keep people from direct-linking my fanlisting (and other) images … and now my Blogger profile picture won’t work (among others, I’m sure). Stupid feature … why can’t I select certain pictures to be left alone? Blah. I can’t even log in and change it from this computer.

Ray is awesome. Yeah he may be kinda weird and like to randomly bug me, but I talked to him yesterday for like 15 minutes about school and HTML, and now I have a copy of Photoshop 7.0 (to replace my 6.0) and Macromedia MX! I was like score — I didn’t think he’d actually remember to burn me the CD. Yay.

Oops, I didn’t update about the weekend? Well, Friday’s taken care of, but man, Saturday night was full of surprises. After Brian (my Brooglian  ) did his magic and fixed Ross and I’s external hard drive, we headed to Shaune’s, getting there around 11. And yes, the hype was lived up to. I bet at least 40 people were there, thus making it one of the biggest parties I’d been to (while not passed out). I got to catch up with Alan, Megan, Jon, and Shayne — who’d come from 2 hours away and decided to have a rant-fest about me with Brian while I was standing there. Granted, it was interesting, and I’m glad they get along, but geez, there’s just some stuff you don’t say.

Then came cop scare #1, so Shaune hurried us all inside. What happened 2 seconds later? Fight. 2 guys started punching each other, apparently over some girl, and it took like 10 people to break it up and hold them back. Consequently, they got kicked out … though the rest of the night includes more drama involving them that I’m not 100% sure about. It was the first real fight I’ve witnessed, and I’ll leave it at that.

But wait, there’s more. Guess who else was there? Brendan Gallagher, of all people — the son of one of my dad’s friends. I hadn’t seen him in like 10 years (during which he grew about 10 feet lol), but somehow he recognized me, so we talked and exchanged phone numbers. Definitely gotta hang out with him soon, one reason being he can hook me up with the good “herbal goodness.” Wow that’s redundant … oh well. Another guy named Bryan (forget his last name) came up to me and said I looked familiar, except I didn’t recognize him at all. Supposedly we were at Swanson together, but maybe he was in a different grade *shrugs*

Brian and I left at cop scare #2, when Shaune shooed everyone out who wasn’t spending the night.

Bah I’m getting so sick of this layout … but wanna get my XHTML and CSS working right before doing anything to it. Speaking of which, weirdncrazy.com is done except for the PHP pages, and I got approved for the Seraphim Shock fanlisting. Cool.

Interesting.

August 5, 2004 | 8:12 am

So New Hampshire is the healthiest state to live in this year. Maybe that’s because of its New England location, since 4 other northeastern states are in the top 10 … but who knows. The only thing I care about is my home of Virginia, which came in at #22 out of 50 — same as last year. Is that good or bad?

I’ve just been introduced to the concept of namelistings — cool, more stuff to join! Aww, there’s no listing for Claire, Brian, Lynn, or Lorelei. Maybe I should make one for me. There are listings, however, for Isaac, Taylor, and Zac. Yay! Remind me to go crazy once I’m back home with my FTP

LOL, almost forgot to write about last night. Even though I got there at 6 (and missed 2 of the bands I wanted to see), I still was able to rock out to Avenged Sevenfold, some band I didn’t know, New Found Glory, Yellowcard, Taking Back Sunday, and Sugarcult (as well as buy a tour t-shirt and both Rock Against Bush CDs)! NFG and Yellowcard had to stop playing for a few minutes due to people getting hurt (one even got taken away by helicopter), but other than that and a short, cold rain shower, it was fun! I even ran into Al and Christina. Funny how I never saw my friends who said they were coming  After it all ended around 9, I sat in Nissan’s parking lot for a half hour trying to get out (and another 15 minutes or so on Wellington), but once I was past the first light, it was smooth sailing. Watched Friends and had ice cream at Brian’s ’til I could barely stay awake, somehow managed to drive home, and passed out as soon as I saw my bed. Good times!

Edit: Score, Titan wants to keep me ’til I go back to school! Awesome. Every day I get more comfortable with the system and the employees, so why give up a good thing?

Airshow, Tiesto.

June 28, 2004 | 12:42 pm

K, really frickin’ tired, but wanted to write a little post before bed.

Brian’s birthday surprise turned out to be spending all day at an airshow — I got a 15-minute aerobatic (loops, spins, rolls) ride in a biplane, then watched planes, people, and props do crazy things for an hour and a half. I just wish I’d brought my sunglasses and sun lotion … my eyes and skin hurt afterwards, but oh well, I’ll feel better in a couple days. Just put some aloe vera gel on, which helped a little … I even think my nose stopped oozing.

Didn’t do anything yesterday … slept ’til 2, did a little shopping, went to bed early. LOL.

Friday night was DJ Tiesto at Nation, which rocked. Got there at 9 (when the doors opened) so we could secure a parking space, and then found out Tiesto wouldn’t be playing ’til 1. Great. But somehow we managed to stay busy for 4 hours by drinking, chilling, and dancing. Plus, once the main room opened at 11 and we found a good place to stand, we basically had to stay there despite the crazy pushing, shoving, heat, and rude people … but Tiesto was worth it  By 3ish we were beyond tired, so we drove back half-asleep, stopped at Denny’s for breakfast, and then passed out.

And that’s my weekend in a nutshell. Night.

Another late night.

June 23, 2004 | 3:17 am

I hate when you get an email about a job offer by someone who clearly didn’t read your resume. Just got one from a company called HireBug who’s looking for full-time account executives with 4-year degrees. Um, hello — not me in any way, shape, or form *sigh* Why does this have to be so hard?

Got a little bit of shopping done today: more gym shorts, a dust cloth for my computer stuff (I was getting tired of tissues), and a new PS2 memory card ’cause Shayne has mine and it’s supposedly MIA. Now I need to play DDR more.

There’s been a lot of downpours tonight: 3 that I’ve witnessed, and who knows how many total. Just my luck that one happened while I was driving 66 and then again on my way from the car to the house. But oh well, rain isn’t that bad … even the sky has to cry sometimes.

Hungover with ClubFM.

May 14, 2004 | 5:59 pm

ClubFM is awesome, I can’t believe I stopped listening to it for awhile lol.

Anyway, haven’t done anything today, mostly ’cause of last night (which was fun!). Didn’t get to bed ’til around 6 am, woke up around 11, had some breakfast and watched TV, then went back to sleep ’cause my head wouldn’t stop hurting. Brian calls around 4 from the airport to update me on stuff, and now I’m just chilling in the basement listening to ClubFM and doing site stuff. I’ll update you on last night later

80 One Records.

April 30, 2004 | 8:38 pm

Haven’t updated in a couple days, so here I am. I’ll start with last night … and I’m sunburned from lunch today, but that’s another story.

Anyway, so around 7:30 I’m working on my cover sheet and resume for The Breeze’s online editor position, when Bob IMs me like are you busy tonight, and wanna come to the 80 One Records CD release party with me? At first I’m like umm what since this is the first time he’s invited me anywhere, but then, since I didn’t wanna study, figured sure why not? So at 8:50 he meets me outside of Garber, and we walk over to Festival. Once inside, music’s already going, and Bob sees some of his friends (one of which is another Claire), so we go and talk to them for a little bit and get our free CDs. Soon we leave them to go find chairs that aren’t right next to the speakers so we can hold some sorta conversation lol. Basically, the whole night consisted of us talking about random stuff, listening to the bands, and having the free late-night breakfast offered. He also bought me a smoothie blizzard thing and t-shirt ’cause I didn’t have any money, which was nice. He’s definitely a cool guy, and looks so much different from what I remember in art. Apparently he’s lost like 25 pounds — something I need to do — so maybe whatever he did will work for me too. That’d rock.

Had lunch with him at Greens today too, which was good except for sitting out in the sun for like 1 1/2 hours — I’m all red! Hehe, but that’s okay, I can definitely use a pseudo-tan

By the way, about me leaving Wednesday? Dunno if that’s gonna happen — Dad needs to drive down and help me take stuff home, and he’s not sure of his schedule … but we’ll see. Either way, I really don’t mind staying another day or two — I could definitely use more time with my JMU people. And I wish Nick lived in Virginia … but oh well. The closest I’ll get is New York, which I might be visiting to see Grandpa for my birthday … but that’s up in the air. Who knows what’s gonna happen once painting gets in full swing. Speaking of which, Bob wants to help paint — yay! The only downside is that he doesn’t have a car. And on my way home, Joseph (one of my first clients) called me and wants me to come visit sometime tomorrow. It’s kinda weird since he hasn’t booked or anything, but what the hell, it’ll build rapport, and he’s nice … kinda like a second grandpa lol.

Ahh … meaningful conversations.

April 18, 2004 | 1:17 am

Wow, I just spent like three hours talking to Brad about everything from car engines to relationship problems. And it was nice … I wish I could do that with all my friends. Speaking of “friends,” my big decision of the moment has to do with Shayne — this weekend has brought to light many things I’ve tried to forget, and I’m starting to have a weird feeling that maybe going out with him was a mistake. Of course I feel bad, ’cause I hate intentionally hurting people after they’ve gone through hell, even if it is for the best *sigh* It’s obvious I can’t have three guys at once … just dunno what to do … Brad and Neyousha aren’t doing that great … Shayne’s glad to have someone who has so much in common with him … and Brian basically needs me more than anything. Is the “winner” in any way apparent to you? I didn’t think so … blah.
