Insane rain, moving sucks, sick?

July 23, 2003 | 12:43 pm

I really don’t get Shaune. She and Will had a physical fight in NYC … and she’s still with him. I know if I were her, I wouldn’t tolerate it … that’s just crossing the line. You don’t do that. But oh well, not like I can do anything about it. I’m just surprised, and not understanding why she puts up with it.

The rain tonight was insane, the worst I’ve ever driven in with my car, and of course it had to start right as our movie (Legally Blonde 2 = kinda funny) let out. I mean, visibility was basically 0% (even with my wipers on high), I was going like 30 mph on 66 … and I’d look out my side window and see water spray up from the road. The places where crosswalks were had standing water … the road just looked flooded from the sudden excess and force of the rain. It was actually kinda scary, I made it home more from memory and following tail lights than from driving. I considered pulling over, but was almost home, and figured I’d be okay. Never again, though … I know it could’ve been worse. And the moment I opened the screen door, my dad opened the other door and said he’d been hoping I hadn’t been driving in the storm. Poor Erica had to get gas as well.

And wtf is up with my throat? I don’t need a cold (or whatever) now, especially with the internship so close. Blah. I wonder if going through an entire pack of Luden’s Cherry Throat Drops is bad for you?

And I really need to pack — we start moving this Thursday … technically tomorrow. Crap. Haven’t even started. Well, my schedule for tomorrow is set … *cries* I really don’t wanna have to pack and unpack all my stuff again, both for the new house and JMU. It gets so repetitive and tedious *sigh* Moving sucks after the first time.

In good news, I’m almost done updating WNC! I’ve gone over every page and made sure it’s how I like it, and have made myself do the time-consuming things that I’ve been putting off. All I have left to do is add tables and resize/border images to the last 3 art pages … and then I think I’m done. Yay!

And it’s pouring again … great. I’m gonna need a boat to go anywhere tomorrow.

Annoying Cox, Father’s Day.

June 16, 2003 | 3:33 am

It’s 3:33, make a wish!

I kinda want the new Blogger hoodie (or shirt), lol. Anyway, yeah, haven’t posted in a couple days. I’m actually on AOL right now ’cause the net here is again being annoying and slow and stupid. My dad was pissed at Cox since it’s always their servers, yet everyone else I know who uses Cox has no problems. Grr. But at least I still have AOL.

Happy Father’s Day! Mine was pretty good — slept in, caught the end of the Sully car show, hung out with Brian for awhile (aw he’s so great), had dinner with him and his family at Carrabba’s, did presents with his dad, then drove home and did presents with my dad, which he said he liked  Wonder how long it’ll take for him to actually set up the answering machine, lol.

I think my sunburn’s getting better (finally). I peeled off a lot of dead skin, which helps according to some medical show I saw a long time ago. And last night I discovered medicated Vaseline in the bathroom cabinet, and since putting it on my shoulders haven’t been as dry, so yay. Hopefully good things will happen if I use it every night.

I got an email from Dr. Kelly, and she said that Dr. Chahine might need some “outside pressure” to help this internship get off the ground, and that it wouldn’t hurt to call the surgery office. So gonna do that tomorrow and hopefully get things worked out.

List for tomorrow: call Georgetown, go to the gym and CVS, figure out how to deposit all my graduation money (since my bank just merged with Wachovia), and fix random site graphics. Tentative birthday list: digital camera, Animatrix (including soundtrack) DVD, Treasure Planet DVD, Gap gift card, and full-length mirror.

Anyway, I’m getting tired, so gonna go to bed now. Bye!

No more high school!

June 9, 2003 | 2:22 am

Wow, long time no update. ‘Cause so much has happened in the past few days, I’m just gonna make a list since I don’t feel like writing a book:

Today: Said bye to Uncle Chris and Mary, finished unpacking (yay!), had dinner at Sweetwater, and saw “Finding Nemo” (awesome movie) with Brian

Yesterday: Recovered from graduation, unpacked some more, watched TV with Brian all day, had dinner at Don Pablo’s, and saw “2Fast 2Furious.”

Friday: Graduated (!), moved out from school, started unpacking, had a 4-hour graduation dinner at the Hyatt, and got some really nice gifts. I was just like woah, definitely wasn’t expecting so much, and at such high quality.

Thursday: Graduation practice, sleep, awards, nice school dinner, and baccalaureate.

Wednesday: Spanish exam, final room inspection, baccalaureate practice, packing, senior slide show, and taking half of my stuff home.

So wow. I can’t believe I get more stuff for my birthday in less than a month. LOL, I don’t know what I want! Okay, well that’s the past few days in a nutshell, and now I’m gonna go to sleep ’cause the screen is getting fuzzy  Bye!

Well, Anilogic called as I was driving home today, and they changed their minds again. They want to offer me the position, but only as unpaid. So I was like grr, and when I got home, called Dr. Kelly and left a message, so hopefully she’ll call back by Monday, which is when I have to let Anilogic know my decision. Maybe I screwed up during the interview?

Plus, the internet is down, so I’m stuck using 56k. Blah — great timing. Guess I won’t be putting the new layout up this weekend

Had dinner with Dad at Big Bowl tonight. It was good, but kinda weird to have to change into nice clothes when he got home ’cause we might be stepping into some nice restaurants to check out the menu and atmosphere. I was like umm WTF and didn’t see the reason, but did it anyway. So we walked around Reston Town Center for like an hour before deciding on where to eat for graduation (Angelo & Maxie’s or Paulo’s), and then where to eat for normal dinner. And as I was driving home, I felt really weird … even though I was going 40, it seemed like 2 mph … it was freaky, like woah. Yeah.

Anyway, g2g and scan some pictures … so talk to everyone later.

To-do list.

May 1, 2003 | 11:46 am

Okay, more to add to my to-do list: get together portfolio for Anilogic, send Grandma a card (76), finish thesis, and get riding stuff from home. And why are my allergies really apparent this year? It hasn’t been a problem since I was like 5 … blah. Ever since waking up today I’ve been sneezing and feeling dizzy … it sucks. Especially since it’s been happening since Monday. Maybe I’ll go to the infirmary later if it doesn’t go away. And it’s funny, I’m in yearbook right now and I don’t think Ms. D knows I’m here … I’m hiding behind a big computer, lol. Anyway, gonna go do more internet stuff now, so adios.

No longer missing.

April 24, 2003 | 1:18 am

Okay nevermind, I figured out what’s “missing” … I need a concrete summer job, confidence to talk to people, and motivation to think and achieve. Or something. I dunno, that’s what I got from talking to Brian tonight … I just wish I wasn’t so unsure of everything. Or that everything I’m unsure of will go back to the way it was … but nevermind, that doesn’t make sense. Gah I just want the year to end and get out of here … it’s driving me crazy. I can’t do anything right anymore.

*sigh* Breathe …

Wireless, long day.

March 14, 2003 | 3:25 am

Ahh this is so nice — I’m sitting in my bed online (and listening to music). How awesome is that? I’m so glad my dad let us go wireless, lol, now I can become even more lazy. But it’s still cool — mucho thanks to Brian for configuring it all, too. Yay.

Anyway, today sucked until I finally managed to escape from school. It took me a minute to comprehend that yes, I did have classes this morning, lol. It seems so far away. I almost fell asleep in budgeting … all we did was finish this boring video about how to “finance your dreams.” Woop de doo. English was the usual … we analyzed more poems. Geez, does the book ever stop? Cooking was cool, we didn’t have time to make a full meal, so we made a snack: smoothies, Asian pears, mangoes, and Tostitos and salsa. It was yummy. Then there was the presentation of the 2003 – 2004 curriculum, but I didn’t have to go! It was my first official sign that graduation is inching closer. Yay. But it still needs to hurry up.

So after cooking I was free for like 7 hours lol, so I packed, went online, took a shower, and got my room ready for inspection. Which took like 3 hours total, the rest I spent online working on the wonderful layout you now see  You like? The other two presentations, teen groups and Interim finale, took too frickin’ long (I didn’t leave school ’til like 9:50). Teen groups were okay, some had food (brownies, cookies, cinnamon rolls, pretzels) and interesting info, which was good. Mine (about instant messaging, downloading, and hacking), of course, didn’t win, but at least I got to experience Katie’s teeny tiny Sony laptop, lol. I could barely see the icons. Then the Interim finale was annoying. The only groups worth listening to were self-defense and Mr. Mohler’s music class, who both did little performances onstage. The rest just monotonly read from printed internet articles … it was painful. And then we got the Interim newspaper, which had mostly pictures of sophomores ’cause that was who the class was mostly comprised of. Typical. But screw that, it’s break, I’m free, and I don’t need to think about school for 2 1/2 weeks. Yay!

Well, I’m getting sorta tired, so I’m gonna check email and then go to bed. Adios! Oh, and I saw Julie today! It was so good to see her again — and finally meet Jayden — he’s so cute. I still can’t believe she’s a mother now, it’s crazy. I just hope everything goes well for her.

Also, happy 20th birthday to Taylor! I almost forgot, lol. See Brian, I’m not obsessed.
