Wow that was kinda weird … haven’t been asked out in a long time, but as I’m sitting here finishing up at work, Derek calls from ITT to say hi and that he’s sorry he didn’t come by today, and also to see if I wanted to get dinner sometime. I was like eep? I had to politely decline (and let him know I was “taken”), but he was cool with it and still wants to be friends which I guess is good — so now I have a friend at work (yay?).

A date?

Almost 21, new job.
Only 7 days ’til I’m 21. Can’t believe it. And I finally have a job! Starting tomorrow at 8 am, I’m a “document production specialist” at IKON for the next 2 – 3 weeks. Apparently I’ll be doing stuff like laminating, binding, and punching holes in documents, plus troubleshooting and making sure that whatever I put together is what the client wanted. Doesn’t sound too bad, but hopefully the customer service aspect isn’t a big part of the position — not really a “people person.” But oh well … Leona said the manager liked my resume the best

Maybe this’ll be it.
I just think I found the perfect temp job. Don’t know if I’d get it, and it’s in Harrisonburg, but it’d be for 6 – 8 weeks (about 165 hours) and pays $8/hour:
Intern will build, modify and create simple illustrations from software picture database and format, label and organize illustrations. Experience with Photoshop or Illustrator necessary. Intern will work with curriculum developer and project manager. Hours are flexible, deadlines are not. Intern should be detail-oriented, hard-working and organized.
The cool thing is, if I got it, I could just live with Owen and Starza since the lease starts in May. Then, since the job ends around the middle of June, I’d still be able to do birthday stuff and get another temp job. Hmm … definitely gonna email them back after class.
Oh yeah, and as of yesterday, weirdncrazy.com is closed … I feel kinda bad, but it had to be done eventually. And at least I’m not alone … apparently Hitz Diary (another popular Hanson site) is on its way out too.

Long day.
I’m at work now … and it’s not that spectacular. My keyboard is loud with sticky keys, the mouse doesn’t have a scroll wheel, and I’m stuck answering phones again. But oh well, at least I’m getting paid. I got to go home for lunch, which was nice, and after work I’m getting a new prescription that will hopefully take care of my cat allergy. My eyes still hurt and feel puffy for some reason … maybe that’s why I feel tired. Eh. All I know is that I’ll sleep well tonight. 1 more hour …
Edit: Well, fuck. I was just informed that the hours here are 8:30 – 5:30, not 9 – 4 like Randstad said. WTF? I was all ready to go home, especially since I feel like crap

Yay.
I’ve got most of my Christmas shopping done! I just got back from Fair Oaks, where I spent way too much money lol. My credit card is now definitely over what I have in the bank, but hopefully after 3 weeks of working I should be good again. I saw so many things that I wanted to get, like mini rubber duckies for Brian and a difficult golf hole calendar for Aunt Ann, but decided against it for the moment … maybe I’ll go back for them later. So far I just need presents for Uncle Chris and Mary (Madison), and maybe Bob and Mary (Brooklyn) if I’m not broke. I’ve kinda combined gifts this year, like Grandma and Bob together instead of separately. Oh, and I got the cutest candles for Grandpa and Mary — little white reindeer, each appropriately named, and Rudolph (in all red) is in the front! They were $20, which is steep for me, but I couldn’t resist. I stood in Bath & Body Works for 10 minutes trying to decide if I should get them. All in all, I spent 3 hours at the mall, including a trip to Parade for their closing sale of all shoes for $19.99, but sadly, I couldn’t find any dress shoes that fit right. They had lots of black boots, but they had the weird pointy toes and I knew I wouldn’t wear them that much, so I said goodbye. I didn’t even make it to Hot Topic … but a tall peppermint mocha from Starbucks made up for it
On a side note, I downloaded “Do They Know It’s Christmas” by Band Aid 20 after hearing all the hype, and it’s not that bad. The performing artists include Tom Chaplin (Keane), Robbie Williams, Dido, Jamelia, Chris Martin (Coldplay), Ms. Dynamite, Joss Stone, The Sugababes, Fran Healy, Justin Hawkins (The Darkness), Will Young, Beverly Knight, Busted, Dizzee Rascal, and Bono (the only one to have sung in both the original and 2004 versions). I have the A Santa Cause version of it too (by Far and Chino Moreno) … I like collecting covers.
I almost forgot! I have a job! I’ll be working at Alliance Bank for $10/hour doing stuff like copying and collating, and it’s really nice because the office is like a mile from my house, so yay for next to no traffic! So I’ll be there until Friday, Saturday is “A Christmas Carol” with Brian and his parents in DC and either the webMethods Christmas party or goth meetup after that, Sunday is Brian’s parents’ Christmas party, and then we’ll be driving to Snowshoe for a little skiing before coming back Tuesday night, only for me to leave again Wednesday morning with my Dad for New York and Connecticut for the week. Gonna be crazy, but hey, what else is break for? I think the only “relaxing” time I had was this weekend, since I’ll be working again after I get back until break ends on the 9th. Man.

Eep.
I enabled hotlink protection on cPanel ’cause I thought it’d keep people from direct-linking my fanlisting (and other) images … and now my Blogger profile picture won’t work (among others, I’m sure). Stupid feature … why can’t I select certain pictures to be left alone? Blah. I can’t even log in and change it from this computer.
Ray is awesome. Yeah he may be kinda weird and like to randomly bug me, but I talked to him yesterday for like 15 minutes about school and HTML, and now I have a copy of Photoshop 7.0 (to replace my 6.0) and Macromedia MX! I was like score — I didn’t think he’d actually remember to burn me the CD. Yay.
Oops, I didn’t update about the weekend? Well, Friday’s taken care of, but man, Saturday night was full of surprises. After Brian (my Brooglian
) did his magic and fixed Ross and I’s external hard drive, we headed to Shaune’s, getting there around 11. And yes, the hype was lived up to. I bet at least 40 people were there, thus making it one of the biggest parties I’d been to (while not passed out). I got to catch up with Alan, Megan, Jon, and Shayne — who’d come from 2 hours away and decided to have a rant-fest about me with Brian while I was standing there. Granted, it was interesting, and I’m glad they get along, but geez, there’s just some stuff you don’t say.
Then came cop scare #1, so Shaune hurried us all inside. What happened 2 seconds later? Fight. 2 guys started punching each other, apparently over some girl, and it took like 10 people to break it up and hold them back. Consequently, they got kicked out … though the rest of the night includes more drama involving them that I’m not 100% sure about. It was the first real fight I’ve witnessed, and I’ll leave it at that.
But wait, there’s more. Guess who else was there? Brendan Gallagher, of all people — the son of one of my dad’s friends. I hadn’t seen him in like 10 years (during which he grew about 10 feet lol), but somehow he recognized me, so we talked and exchanged phone numbers. Definitely gotta hang out with him soon, one reason being he can hook me up with the good “herbal goodness.” Wow that’s redundant … oh well. Another guy named Bryan (forget his last name) came up to me and said I looked familiar, except I didn’t recognize him at all. Supposedly we were at Swanson together, but maybe he was in a different grade *shrugs*
Brian and I left at cop scare #2, when Shaune shooed everyone out who wasn’t spending the night.
Bah I’m getting so sick of this layout … but wanna get my XHTML and CSS working right before doing anything to it. Speaking of which, weirdncrazy.com is done except for the PHP pages, and I got approved for the Seraphim Shock fanlisting. Cool.

Interesting.
So New Hampshire is the healthiest state to live in this year. Maybe that’s because of its New England location, since 4 other northeastern states are in the top 10 … but who knows. The only thing I care about is my home of Virginia, which came in at #22 out of 50 — same as last year. Is that good or bad?
I’ve just been introduced to the concept of namelistings — cool, more stuff to join! Aww, there’s no listing for Claire, Brian, Lynn, or Lorelei. Maybe I should make one for me. There are listings, however, for Isaac, Taylor, and Zac. Yay! Remind me to go crazy once I’m back home with my FTP
LOL, almost forgot to write about last night. Even though I got there at 6 (and missed 2 of the bands I wanted to see), I still was able to rock out to Avenged Sevenfold, some band I didn’t know, New Found Glory, Yellowcard, Taking Back Sunday, and Sugarcult (as well as buy a tour t-shirt and both Rock Against Bush CDs)! NFG and Yellowcard had to stop playing for a few minutes due to people getting hurt (one even got taken away by helicopter), but other than that and a short, cold rain shower, it was fun! I even ran into Al and Christina. Funny how I never saw my friends who said they were coming
After it all ended around 9, I sat in Nissan’s parking lot for a half hour trying to get out (and another 15 minutes or so on Wellington), but once I was past the first light, it was smooth sailing. Watched Friends and had ice cream at Brian’s ’til I could barely stay awake, somehow managed to drive home, and passed out as soon as I saw my bed. Good times!
Edit: Score, Titan wants to keep me ’til I go back to school! Awesome. Every day I get more comfortable with the system and the employees, so why give up a good thing?
